Saturday 16th March
Austin - Day 2
We all woke early (a little nervous maybe), and went to breakfast
at Dennys. John picked up the cheque, which was great of him.
Its just dawned on me that Eric is leaving the tour tomorrow
to head back to LA. I think that I speak for all of us when I say
that well really miss him. He, out of all our American friends,
is the one we are closest to. Hes like another member of the
band.
We rest all day and leave for sound-check at 6.00pm. The club we
are playing is called the District Bar & Grill. Its on
6th Street in Austin, which is where all the main places are to
play. We eat at the bar and John then disappeared for a bit. When
he came back, he tells me that hes just been to the club where
Ash are playing tonight. He went on to say that the
band who are supporting Ash were sound-checking and looked/sounded
good. "Chick on guitar, guy playing a Flying V and a drummer
with a mohawk". "John", I say, "that is Ash!"
Our show was full of energy. There were a few tech problems, but
I think everyone enjoyed themselves. The guys from Red Eye liked
it a lot, which I was most pleased about. St Patricks day
tomorrow!
