Minneapolis

Got to the venue (1st Avenue 7th St. Entry) to soundcheck at 4pm. Impressive place. This was the joint where they filmed some of the scenes in Purple Rain. Minneapolis being the home of the Purple One himself of course!

The outside was adorned with hundreds of silver stars with the names of hundreds of bands who’d played at the venue! Of course the soundman is a lovely bloke called Billy. But Billy don’t come through with the eats!

Back to the hotel for a quick kip and then back to the show! Very much like the bar in Start Wars! We finished an ok set and pack away. The drummer from ‘Husker Du’ (whose name escapes me), bought us some champagne. Thoroughly nice chap!

Sold a t-shirt to a fellow musician. Also made friends with a man monster called Liam from Derry, who moved here when he was twelve. Think Sloth from the film Goonies, mixed with my Uncle Tommy Carey. Scary Indeed! The bar staff were very generous and gave us more beer than we could drink!
